7/31 Core'dinations Back to School Layout

Happy Tuesday!

Our assignment from Core'dinations this month was to make a School layout or project.  I had these photos of my son on his first day of school last year and so I broke them out and got busy.  Love an awesome assignment!  My creative juices were flowing.  Here is what I came up with.

First, I layered my Core cardstock and sanded pretty heavily the grey piece.
Next, I ran some strips of cardstock in my embossing folder and sanded that.  I love to sand!!
Here is my finished project.  I added an apple from Some Odd Girl to help embellish the layout.  I also had some odds n ends from LYB.
I have a video to share on how this layout came about.

7/29 Core'dinations Bottle Tag

Happy Tuesday!

This past weekend we were invited to a friend's house for dinner and I wanted to bring a bottle of Sangria for dinner.  So of course this gave me an opportunity to make a fun bottle tag. I remembered that Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is having a fun challenge - Emboss It!  I love embossing so I broke out my Core'dinations and my embossing folders!  How fun!!

I cut all the elements out on my Silhouette and then started to emboss!  I first embossed the blue background using a new embossing folder from Lifestyle Crafts.  I then embossed the leaves of the flower using a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Since  used my Core'dinations cardstock I then sanded all my elements.  Finally I stamped my sentiment and called it a day!

I made a video on how this came about.

Happy Monday!

I have had some extra time this past week to work on my own projects.  I am trying to finish up my scrapping from 2012.  I am on October  so I have another Halloween layout to share.

I once again used some older Imaginisce paper.  I think it is about 3 years old.  My goal for the past year has been to use up my paper stash.  I am really working on it and it is so much fun!  When I was going through my photos I loved these three photos of my oldest and my hubby.  We really had so much fun working on our pumpkins.  I also wanted a fast layout to make.  Sooooo I scraplifted myself.  I love it when I can do this.  Why invent something new when it worked the first time.  Right?

Back Porch Memories Contest

Happy Monday,

I had some time on my hands today and I say this awesome contest for being a Guest Designer at Back Porch Memories.  They make awesome kits!  I saw the sketch and my mind went a bit crazy.  Here is the sketch:
I stuck to the sketch pretty closely but I wanted to make it a two photo layout.  So here is what I came up with.
This was taken 2 years ago and Michael was painting and adding glitter to his "Golden Pumpkin".  He got the idea from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  So me being the crafty mom we went out to Michael's and bought gold paint and gold glitter.  I do have to say it turned out awesome!  He LOVED it and I was so happy to see his huge smile!

paper and stickers- Imaginisce
cardstock- core'dinations.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with an all new layout using my new Some Odd Girl Stamps "School Supplies".  See you then.  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

July 9th SOG Inspiration

Happy Wednesday!

I am up over at Some Odd Girl sharing my fun gift box and card set for a teacher.  School is going to begin in just a couple short weeks ( Can you believe how fast time is flying by?)  and this gift box and card set is perfect for the new teacher.

To make the box I used my Silhouette and one of the Silhouette designs.  I used my Core'dinations Cardstock so that the box would be sturdy.  I then used some October Afternoon paper to decorate the box.  I then found some yummy May Arts ribbon to close the box.

With the cards I wanted to carry the color scheme and design so I used the same color of cardstock and then added some Jillibean Soup paper that matched well with the box and ribbon and then added a small strip of the pattern paper.  For the adorable images and sentiments I used the brand new clear stamp set that is going to be released next week!  You are the first to see this totally awesome School Supply set.  I think it is must have stamp set!
Here is a close up of the adorable pencil.
Aren't those crayons too cute?
For this card I used the apple from Fruit Salad

Anyhooooo!  I created this layout using the Core'dinations Tim Holtz cardstock.  I love the impressions subway art becuase it makes creating a layout so easy.  I used some photos of my boys playing with sparklers!  The were having so much fun!
For my layout I used some Graphic 45 pattern paper along with the awesome Digi Cut File from Some Odd Girl as my title!  To top it off I cut some stars and embossed then and added some wood veneer stars and called it a day!
