Friday Blog HOp with Practical Scrappers

Hello and welcome to the PRACTICAL SCRAPPERS and SCRAPTOWN LADY Blog Hop!  We thought it would be fun to combine forces and share projects with you that have our design teams’ takes on one of the hottest scrapbooking trends around:  Project Life.

Whether you are a “Project Lifer,” are interested in Project Life, or just want to find out ways to use all those fantastic Project Life types of products and ideas on your own projects, we have a hop FULL of inspiration and creativity!

I do not do Project Life ( I have in the past but not this year) but I do like to do everyday layouts.  I like to pick a day and just photograph the things that we do or the events that take place during the day.  So for my layout I picked a day and scrapped that day.  I made a photo collage of all the things that went on that day.

Thursday Imaginsice Shaped Card

Happy Thursday!

I took the past 2 weeks off from crafting to get ready for vacation and then vacation.  When I got home I was having withdrawals.  I have been a crafting machine this week to get caught up with work.  It has been so fun to go into my craft room and get glue and ink all over my fingers again!!  Do you miss this wonderful hobby when you take a break?

Over at the Imaginisce Blog this week we had a challenge to make a shaped card using Imaginisce.  This is out of my box here.  So I went to the Silhouette store and found this awesome and cute camera and turned it into a card.  I used all Imaginisce papers except for the cardstock base.
On the inside I stamped my sentiment using The Alley Way Stamps and added some brads that I have had in my collection for about 10 years now.  LOL!!  Do you remember the QVC days?  I ordered the brad collection and I got about 200 different brads.  Well, I am still using them!

Wednesday Core'dinations Boat

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have another card for you using Core'dinations cardstock.  I needed a little baby card so I broke into my stash and created this card.  It was so much fun to work with all the different techniques with the Core Cardstock!

Techiniques:
1,  First I tore my cardstock to expose the inner core to create the waves.  I layered them and used pop dots to give it a little dimension.
2.  I embossed my Whitewash cardstock and sanded it lightly to expose the blue color for my clouds.
3 I used my Silhouette to cut my boat.
4.  I embossed the bottom of the boat and and lightly sanded it.

Wow that was a lot of Core techiniques but it was totally worth it!

I made the sail using a Jillibean Soup sticker and I finally stamped my sentiment using an Alley Way Stamp!

Tuesday Core'dinations Crossing Over

Happy Tuesday!

How's it going?  Things have been awesome here.  Last week the family went on an awesome vacation to Florida.  We had a wonderful time.  It has been a dream of mine to see dolphins and I was able to go on a dolphin cruise and we saw a ton.  Now I want to swim with them!!!!

In May Jack was so excited that he was "Crossing Over" in Cub Scouts.  I got this photo of him when he came back with is new bandana and pin.  I was so proud that he did the necessary steps to Cross Over.  So you know me I just had to scrap it!  For this layout I broke out my Core'dinations and layerd my cardstock. I then scored the blue cardstock and sanded it. I then tore it to expose the inside core.  I also used my Silhoeutte to create the title and use the negative space.  I then layered my pattern paper and added some new Core'dinations Smooth tags.  I then took my marker and doodled around to create a border.  Finally I added some embellishments and tags ( Chic Tags and Elle's Studio).  I really love how this turned out!

Wednesday Imaginisce and Tombow Swap

Happy Wednesday!

Today we are kicking off summer with an awesome blog hop going on between Imaginisce and Tombow!

My youngest son is going on a Boy Scout outing with my older son and hubby and I made a little Tackle Box for him.  It is a surprise.  in his bag.  This little box is filled with some yummy gummy worms.  I think he is going to love it.  To make this little box I used my Silhouette to create the box.  I then used the Tombow Liquid Glue to glue all the edges together so that they are nice and strong.  I then used the markers to color a Snag Em stamp (you can see this in the video).  Finally I attached them on the box with Tombow adhesive squares.

I made a video to show you how I put this all together as well as some fun techniques with the Tombow markers.

Monday Moxxie Favorite Photo

Happy Monday!

Did you have a nice weekend?  We sure did!  I was very lazy but had  a wonderful time.  Played tennis, read, played with my boys and just relaxed!   My goal for the summer is to not craft on the weekends and just spend every minute with my family.

I am trying to get my vacation  photos done from 2012 and this is one of my faves.  I loved watching hubby taking Michael close to the water so that he was not afraid.   For my layout I broke an older collection from Moxxie and I just LOVE how it turned out.  I used my Silhouette to cut out the title and camera.  I then added some Bella Blvd washi tape and some flair badges and some wood veneer. I also added some tags from Elle's Studio.   I really loved going deep into my stash and used up a bunch of older embellies!

Moxxie June Blog Hop- Reach for the Stars

Welcome to the June Moxxie Muse-A-Palooza Blog Hop! This month one lucky follower will win the entire Reach for the Stars collection! You'll be over the moon and out of this world for this adorable collection designed for your little space cadets. Whether playing with a favorite toy, turning a shipping box into a spaceship, or watching a classic movie, pics of your little rocketman (or rocketwoman!) will go perfectly with this collection! It just doesn't get any cuter than this!

Reach for the Stars is my all time favorite collection from Moxxie!  It is just so versatile and I have used it a TON!  I just adore it.

For my layout I started with a Studio Calico mask and misted my paper using some Mister Huey's mist.  I then started layering my paper and adding some of the pre cut die cuts and I was done!  It came together so super easy!  I finished it off with some bling from Imaginisce and some wood veneer stars from Studio Calico.  Now it wouldn't be completely done if I didn't add some twine or flair so I added both from The Stringery and a Flair for Buttons!

Now you are probably wondering about the photo- In May Jack had Space Camp and the student's had to dress up as an Astronaut.  We found a helmet here and we made our own t-shirt.  He looked so cute and he had such a fun time all day doing science experiments!  I wrote my journaling on my says of the sun burst.

Monday SOG Stamping on Your Layouts

Happy Monday!

Did you have a nice weekend?  I have to say this was one of the most relazing weekends I have had in ages. I sat outside on our patio and just enjoyed the wonderful cool weather.  I loved it.  I didn't set foot in my craft room all weekend!

Today over at Some Odd Girl this week we are featuring how to include stamps in your scrapbooking and project life work.  I was SO excited for this because I LOVE to include stamping on my projects.  I think they just add so much!  Here is a little sneak peek of my layout that I made using a ton of SOG stamps to create my own emellishments.
I would love it if you could stop by the Some Odd Girl blog HERE  and said hi and possibly leave a little bit of love!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow with a new project for Scrapbook Steals!  See you then.  Have a wonderful and crafty day!
