Friday Germs

Happy Friday!!!!

Oh am I ready for the weekend! This has been a LONG week.  I can't wait to get home tonight!  Hubby, the boys and I are going to go bowling!  The boys and I have gone bowling every week this summer.  We signed up for free bowling and the boys could bowl anytime they wanted and it was free.  Tonight is the last night so we will have some fun!!

This week I was able to squeak in a little bit of scrap time and I made this really fun layout!  My little one was sick this past winter with a high fever, runny nose, cold - everything and I took a photo of him on the couch holding his beloved Yellow Bear.  When I was going through my photos this past weekend I came across this one and new exactly how I wanted to scrap it.  I wanted to use up all my scraps from this uber fun collection from Nikki Sivils.  Her paper just makes me so happy.  So even though my baby was sick the paper and embellies make me smile!  To make the page kind of fun, I added some googly eyes to the germs, and then I just kind of kept layering the embellies and my paper scraps.  I love how it turned out!

Thursday Chevrons and Basic Grey

Happy Thursday,

Are you tired of all my cards I have been making lately?  I have been on a groove with them.  Basic Grey had a challenge awhile ago to use chevrons.  This was not a hard challenge because chevrons are everywhere these days in paper crafting. I was wanting to use up some of my old Basic Grey (again trying to use up my scraps) and none of my Basic Grey papers had any chevrons.  So what is a girl to do?  Well, I went to my Silhouette and found this fun 4x6 shaped project life card.  I resized it so that it was 4.25x5.5 and cut it out.  I then adhered on top of one of their papers, added some embellies and a sentiment and I was done!  I love it when things can come together so quickly and easily!

Wednesday with Moxxie's Forever Family

Happy Wednesday!

How is your week going?  So far so good here.  I am dreading today just a bit though.  It is my school's open house and we have to come back to school from 7-8:30.  I really don't like this because of my commute.  I work 30 minutes away so I will be spending 2 hours in my car today and get home late.  YUCK!! oh well it only happens once a year and it will be over with.  Right???

Moxxie has a terrific paper collection called Forever Family and it is just wonderful for all your family projects.  As I mentioned before, my mother loves to come to me for cards.  People have asked what in the world do I do with all my cards?  I use some but mainly my mom uses a TON of them.  Anyhoo, my mom asked for a card for her sister and I knew exactly what I was going use.  The awesome Forever Family collection because there is a sticker that says " Sisters by birth Friends by choice" and that is exactly how my mom and aunt are.  They are so funny together.  They talk to each other 2-3 times a day.  Now that my mom retired from teaching the two of them are constantly hanging out.

Tuesday - You Make My Day Card

happy Tuesday!

As I mentioned last week, I have been really really trying to use up some of my stash.  I have so much and I just need to sit down and use it up.  I have put myself on a HUGE spending freeze!   There are some paper collections that I would like to buy but NO can do.  I don't have the space soooo I am trying to use it all up!!   (or at least some of it- LOL!!)

This is a card that I made from my scraps from an American Crafts collection.  You can see the double page layout that I made HERE.  I used some of the tags and used them on the card.  I added some brads and some twine and I was done!  Easy Peasy!!

Monday Fun with Jillibean

Happy Monday!!!

Did you all have a great weekend?  Oh my, I sure did!  We all hung out together all weekend and had a blast!  - bike riding, bowling, playing, etc.  Loved every minute of it!!  BUT, back to reality today!

This is a layout that I made for Jillibean Soup using the Macho Nacho collection.  I just love this collection.  For the blue polka dot piece of pattern paper I cut out the good lookin' and arrow with my Silhouette and then used the negative space by putting other pattern paper behind it.  I like that look of using the negative space these days!  Of  course, I had to use a bit of mist- you know I am totally addicted!

Friday with the Silhouette and Jillibean Soup

Happy Friday!

Who is happy it is the weekend?  ME!!!  I just finished my first week of work and I am ready for the weekend!  We don't have any plans so I have no idea what we are doing but I am just so excited to have the first week of school done with!!  We do have Jack's open house this Sunday and that is it.  I hope to get some relaxing time in and some scrapping!  I haven't scrapped all week and I am missing it terribly!

Have you heard the news?  Two of my favorite scrapbooking companies have teamed up and I am so excited.  The Silhouette and Jillibean Soup have come together and made some awesome die cuts.  When I heard the news I rushed home and bought all the images.  You know me- I am crazy for my Jillibean.  Well, my mom needed a gift to give to one of her friends and she asked me to make her a gift card set.  My mom loves the clean and simple look of things and immediately I knew what I wanted to do.  Use my new images!  So I used the scalloped circle ( I like this scalloped circle because it is not even- some of the scallops are bigger than others) and I made this CAS card!  I used all my favorites on this card- twine- jillibean soup- lawn fawn!  It couldn't get any better (at least for me-LOL!)

Thursday Flying By!

Happy Thursday,

I have been really trying to use up my scraps lately.  I store all my scraps with my collections and I need to make room.  So therefore, I have been making a ton of cards lately.  This card is a quick one that I made for Cord Scrapbook Studio using the travel mini collection from Echo Park.  I really liked this mini.  I had a little bit of paper left and a couple of stickers.  I matted the paper and put the balloon sticker in the middle and then used some paper trey ink dies for the clouds and the greeting.  Super easy!

Wednesday with Moxxie

Happy Wednesday!

Hope your week is going well. So far so good here!  In the words of Jack- "Being  a First Grader is AWESOME!"  I was so excited to pick him up and see his huge smile yesterday.  It makes me so happy he loves school!!

One of the new collections from Moxxie is Forever Family.  This is such an awesome collection for all your family photos.  I have had this photo for a year now of my boys with their grandmothers.  I knew this collection would be perfect for it.  I used the wonderful die cuts and the cardstock stickers to create the banner.  I also misted some flowers from Hero Arts using Mister Huey Pumpkin Spice and dewey.  They matched the paper perfectly!

Well, the first day back at work went well!  I missed the kiddos sooo much!  Hubby said Michael wasn't thrilled about going to school.  When I picked him up he said that he likes Preschool 2 so I was happy!  Today Jack starts 1st grade!  He was a bit nervous last night but also very excited.  I can't wait to pick him up from school!

I made a quick card using some of my scraps from Imaginisce.  I have been trying to use up some of my stash.  This is a great little fun card using some of their fun Chipboard images!  I added a little bit of bling to the card.  Super easy peasy lemon squeezey!

Monday Nap Man and some fun news!

Happy Monday,

Did you have a nice weekend?  We sure did. The weather was awesome and relatively cool so we hung outside a bit.  I also did some last minute summer cleaning- going through drawers and pitching socks that don't fit anymore and replacing with new school socks for the boys etc.  I love the organizing of it all!

My littlest one starts Preschool 2 today.  He is so excited to go to his new room and be with his new teacher.  I also start back to school today.  We have 2 days of inservice and then the kids come.  I am not a fan of inservice days but it is nice to be eased back in to the routine of getting up everyday at 4:45 am.  It has been nice all summer to sleep in till 6:30.  Back to the routine.  Jack doesn't start till tomorrow.  My mom is hanging out with him.  He was pretty excited to hang out with her!

I had some more time to scrap just for me these past several weeks and I have been wanting to scrap these photos of Jack. Last year he was so tired so he went upstairs to rest. Of course, he took his favorite toys with him- Bat Man!   He fell sound asleep holding on to his favorite figure!  When I went in to get him I knew I had to take a photo.  It has been over a year that I have hung on to this photo but I knew I wanted this layout to be special so I broke out some Crate Paper.  I have had this collection for awhile now and it was just perfect for my photos.  I just love all the chipboard embellishments!  I love the title- Nap Man!

I also had some fun news last week!  Erica, from the Stringery ( an etsy shop), has asked me to be a part of her design team.  Of course I said yes!  Who wouldn't want to play with fun ribbon and twine!  Head on over to her shop for some amazing ribbon and twine!  Click HERE  I can't wait to play with all the fun items she has in her shop!!

Friday Inspire!

Happy Friday!

Who is excited for the weekend?  I have to say I am NOT!  This is my last weekend before school.  I am not really looking forward to going back to work.  I am going to miss my little ones and just having more time.  BUT,  oh well, a girl can dream.  Right??

One of my favorite paper collections lately had been the Luv2Craft collection from We R Memory Keepers.  I got to play with this collection from Cord Scrapbook Studio.  With my scraps from my previous projects I made this adorable card. I love the chevron paper and the chipboard sentiment is just perfect.  I just added some twine to the tag!

Thursday Card

Happy Thursday,

Yesterday I had a great me day!  The kids were at summer camp and I went and had a wonderful pedicure, eye brow wax and then came home and had a little mini marathon of my crazy show that I  like ( housewives of new york).  This show is so terrible but for some reason I love to watch it.  Hubby hates it and it is not appropriate to watch when the kids are home so I had a me day!  It was so fun!  I am all caught up now and boy oh boy those ladies are crazy!  It really makes me appreciate my life!

Today I have a quick card to share using the Authentique Fresh collection.  I really loved this collection and used every sing drop of it from my kit from Cord Scrapbook Studio.  I added some fun pearls and bling to the card just to give it a bit more something something!

Wednesday Kite Tails

Happy Wednesday!

I can't believe I only have 3 more days of summer vacation left.  Jack is getting excited for school to start and we just found out today that Michael will be moving up to Preschool 2 on Monday as well.  I was prepared for Jack and now that Michael is moving up I am getting a bit emotional!  Oh well, what can you do?  Kids grow up.  Right??

I was up over at Kite Tails Designs the other week with a fun little mini album I made using the Luck O' collection and a simple little mini from the dollar spot at Michaels.  Luck O' is such a fun collection and I wanted to show off the line with a mini album about how lucky I am with the guys in my life!

Tuesday Journal

Happy Tuesday

How was your day yesterday?  Mine was so fun!  The boys were at Summer camp.  Their last week, and hubby took the day off and we spent the day together.  Just the two of us!!  We went out for lunch and just hung out.  It was so fun!!  I love quality time  together!

One of the fun collections that I got to work with from Cord Scrapbook Studio this past Spring was the Luv 2 Craft collection from We R Memory Keepers.  This collection was so fun!  I highly recommend this line!  So many wonderful things that you can create with this collection.  Last week I shared a layout (HERE), and my altered project using this collection is a Craft Journal.  I made my own Smash Journal to put all my inspiration in- photos-color inspiration- sketches that I have made-realia etc.

To make this Journal I bought a composition book at the dollar store and then covered the front with pattern paper and back with the WeRMemory Keepers cardstock.  I then decorated the front with a little bit of mist and stickers.  I just love it!

Monday Catching up with Birthdays

Happy Monday

How was your weekend?  Well, on Friday of last week hubby and I moved 16 huge tables, 32 chairs, and 36 desks from my old room to my new room.  EVERY muscle in my body hurt Friday night and Saturday.  It was terrible.  I know a lot of asked why do I have to move these items. The reason is a bit complicated--skip reading in you are not interested LOL!!
Ohio funds schools via tax levies on their property.  This is a horrible way to fund schools because people don't want their property taxes to go up and they vote NO.  Soooooo our district is facing a 6 million dollar deficit.  Our district is the 7th largest in the state of Ohio and we laid off close to 200 teachers last year.  So the maintenance staff was also cut and there are just not enough people to move furniture.  So the teachers have to do it!
Saturday we went to my mother in laws for a family party and then Sunday I scrapped just for me!!  I do not scrap chronologically but I really don't like to be more than a year behind.  I went through all my lists of layouts to scrap and I noticed I forgot these wonderful photos of Jack blowing out his candles.  I can't believe my boy is going to be 7 in just 3 weeks.  So I got out my fave Jillibean Soup and got busy!  For this layout I used the calendar piece of the Spotted Owl Soup and built my page around that.  I love the banner!

Friday Moxxie Hexagons

Happy Friday!

Are you ready for the weekend?  I will be once I get through today.  My wonderful hubby is taking a 1/2 day off and we are meeting at my school and he is going to help me move the tables from my new room to my old room upstairs and then take the the desks from my old room and move them downstairs.  It is going to be a back breaking afternoon and I totally appreciate his help!  Then on Saturday we have a family get together at my mother in laws and then Sunday is a total day of relaxation!!  The weather is supposed to be perfect with cooler temps (80's) and who knows what we will do!!!

I have been on a clean and simple card kick lately! I needed to make a couple of masculine birthday cards and I needed to make them fast!  Right now I am totally addicted to the hexagon shapes so I got out my Silhouette and cute out a hexagon shape using the new Moxxie Forever Family collection,  and then made a mat for them.  I love to use my sewing machine and I quickly stitched around the card.  I then added my sentiment.  I love my set of Lawn Fawn  sentiments.  They are just perfect.  Next I randomly placed my hexagons on the card.I then pop dotted some to add some dimension and then randomly added some brown buttons.  So quick and easy and just perfect for some upcoming family birthdays!

Thursday luck!

Happy Thursday

Today I have another really easy, clean and simple card to share with you.  I have had several younger cousins getting ready to take their driver's test and I thought it would be nice to send them a little encouragement.   I love the Studio Calico wood veneer shapes and the little cars were just perfect for this easy car.  I first sprayed the cars with some mister huey and  while they dried I stamped my sentiment using some Lawn Fawn stamps.  Next I adhered the cars to the card.  Finally I added some twine!  Easy Peasy!

Wednesday Kite Tails and a Sketch

Happy Wednesday!

I was up last week on the Kite Tails Designs blog with a quick and easy card sketch.  I really like the clean and simple looks to cards.  One of the reasons why I like them so is that they are usually super easy to create and I can use a bunch of my scraps!  I really do not have a lot of scraps because I always use them on my cards.

My sketch
For this cards I used the Blue Sky Day.  I loved that this collection had the same pattern paper in different colors.  I picked 3 colors and cut a square.  I then cut out of the pattern pieces a circle to add a bit of embellishment.  I then added a touch of bling to the center of the circle.  You always need bling- right??  Finally I added a quick sentiment from my Lawn Fawn stamp set.  I love it when a card can come together in under 15 minutes!

Tuesday with Scrapbooking Friends

Happy Tuesday!

Any scrapping plans for you this week?  I hope to get some in but I know it is going to be tough this week.  The weather finally broke here and we are having spectacular weather- sunny, mid 80's and NO humidity!  I love it.  The boys and I will be outside all the time.  Jack recently learned how to ride his bike without training wheels and we have been going on nightly bike rides.  It has been so much fun and I look forward to our time together!

Cord Scrapbook Studio  sent me the new line from We R Memory Keepers to work with and this new craft line is just so wonderful for any crafting project.  As I mentioned before my local Scrapbook store was closing after 15 years of being in the business.  I had been going there for 12!  Over the years of being on the DT and going to crops I built up a nice group of ladies that I looked forward to seeing and hanging out with. This is a layout of our last crop together.  We had so much fun and none of us got a thing done.  LOL!!  This collection was just perfect to celebrate this even.
Sorry the photo is looking dark- I am not sure why because it is not dark in photoshop-???? strange???
